Year Seven Transition

This Semester we increase our efforts to prepare our students for Year Seven through a number of initiatives.

Starting this week key teachers of Year Seven will visit Year Six during assembly and introduce their subject areas. Today Mr Carl Altschul spoke to the students about Innovating with Technology and Design Technology. Next Monday Ms Sarah Trotter will speak about History.

Last Friday the Languages Department introduced students to the Year Seven Language options and sent home selection notes. We ask that notes are returned to school by Friday 25th August.

A Year Six into Seven Transition Day is planned for Term Four as an opportunity to explore the senior campus and meet teachers of Year Seven. All students will be asked to complete a Buddy Form to guide us in pairing existing students with new students. This process is an important part of assisting students adjust to potentially new friendship circles that arise in Year Seven.

We have added a section to the Year Six website that outlines our plans for preparing students for Year Seven and will add a section to the FAQ page to address questions relating to any aspect of Senior School. If you have a question please email this to any of the Year Six teachers.
